About the Hotel

Location. One of the newest cities in the world, Brasilia was inaugurated in 1960 to replace Rio de Janeiro as Brazil's capital. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, 2.2 million inhabitants reside in Brasilia, mainly in the outer lying suburbs rather than in the famously designed city center by Brazilian architect Lúcio Costa. Costa originally wanted to design the city in the shape of a butterfly but later settled on the airplane as an organizing form and a grand monument to Brazil's modernization.
